Got her strung and hung last weekend and have been working on the hands. She is made from extra bits, and leftover scraps like all rag-dolls – old sculptured head I made over 10 years ago and never did anything with, my hair from a cut I got 6 years ago when my daughter was not yet one and was pulling it, leftover bits of a quilt I was making for her, twigs for digits that had been pruned from a crepe myrtle at work. Been thinking about how you go from being a hot woman to being a rag doll/puppet/drudge in the rags of your former finery when you are a mother of young children – you wouldn’t trade it for the WORLD (and you mean that, it’s not just some stupid old saying), but you look at yourself and say “Wait, what happened, where did I go?”.
